Local football fans woke up to the shocking news on January 6 when the Singapore Football Association made an unprecedented move by sacking the entire National Football Team. Recent bad performance and ill-discipline and a need to revamp the team were some of the reasons mentioned.
Well, as everyone is trying to make sense of the drama being played, I cannot help but have my own go at it.

In the recent month or so, the local papers have been covering quite a fair bit about youth street gang violence. Many have been left shocked and aghast at the level of senseless violence on the streets.
I reckon these people have not been to some of the weekend football games played here in Singapore. How many of us would raise our hands when asked if we have witnessed footballers brawling on the pitch? Perhaps it would not be surprising if some of us have been involved in...

It was been rather interesting and somewhat puzzling to note in the last couple of years, the English League Cup has vanished from our television sets. I am wondering if anyone even noticed its demise. Did Starhub and Singtel forget about this lesser Cup tournament in the midst of their battle for the Premiership? Maybe, they do not have the spare change to buy the rights for it after the World Cup debacle. I really would like to know though.
