Three weeks since their last league fixture, and the Hilderinc Twā returned to competitive engagement could not have been any harder than facing league leaders, Sporting Balestier FC at their own pitch with a heavily hotchpotch side, whose matchday numbers were a clear deception of their ragbag collection of players who were either returning to the side after a lengthy absence, injury or plainly thrown into the furnace for a baptism fire prematurely.
With the side still...Read Full Post »

Just a week after what was their best display yet since pre-pandemic competitive football, Hilderinc FC were stymied in any progress forward as they suffered a revert of quandary in numbers, resulting, in part, to another grim day out in the Equatorial Football League.
Missing five out of the fourteen who formed the matchday squad last Saturday, the Blacks, with plethora of goalkeepers on their books, astonishingly, had none to call upon leaving Nabil Zahrif, a midfielder in...Read Full Post »

Appalling, catastrophic, dreadful, infuriating when adjectives fail to surmise the manner in which Hilderinc Twā suffered an embarrassing return to league action after a month’s recess.
While lethargy after four weeks out of competitive football would be adequate as a decent but feeble excuse, the irrefutable fact was that the game was out of their hands prior to the start as they looked out of focus and disjointed in attention even before the first ball was kicke...Read Full Post »

Drawing from the positives of last weekend’s heroic display, at least in the first half, Hilderinc FC stood at the cusp of a long-awaited upturn in fortunes before TGA Strollers snatched all three points at the death in a pulsating clash in the Equatorial Football League Saturday QD 1 fixture, in arguably their best display since pre-pandemic.
Having recently met in a Hilderinc Football Club Invitational, the stakes were higher this time around as both sides squared of...Read Full Post »

Hilderinc FC’s mortifying start to the EFL Saturday league continues to stutter as they come to terms with the chastening truth that mistakes and inexperience will undermine any positive efforts, even with the campaign at the in its infancy.
While it was no secret that the season came earlier than being ready for, but repeated ineptitude to eradicate outrageous recurring mistakes, and the inability to comprehend responsibilities and purge old infuriating habits, this d...Read Full Post »

With an injury and absentee list longer than the actual available numbers, this including three Saturday Blacks involved, Hilderinc Twā’s fixture against fellow slow starters, VFC, was always going to be a challenge, more so considering the wider Hilderincs’ struggles against Vietnamese sides of late.
While the return of Darren Ang was highly appreciated and needed, astoundingly, before the afternoon was done, the Blacks had used an incredible no less than E...Read Full Post »

Like stuck in the vortex with little or no escape out of its malevolent grip, the Hilderincs’ start to the season, though still at its early stages, took a further hit when they were on the receiving end of yet another mauling on Sunday.
Though several late withdrawals still wreaked havoc to pre-match plans, the eleventh-hour inclusion of Nigel Pek lifted the spirits, and up to the opening fifteen minutes, there was little to suggest that they looked proper to get a po...Read Full Post »

Still feeling the effect of four weeks ago, and memories still fresh in the minds, Hilderinc FC were once again pitted against Fighting Cocks FC, now perennial rivals who have following each other in the ESPZEN, MSC Summer Cup, and now in the Equatorial Football League.
Having endured one of their worst games in their history at the hands of the same opponents, the Blacks were determined to give a better account of themselves, and because of the ongoing injury and unavailabi...Read Full Post »

It was never imagined that the Hilderincs’ entry into the Equatorial Football League would be a walk in the park, but after a weekend of drubbing, both on Saturday and Sunday, the Blacks were awakened to the lessons that they need to learn, and learn quickly, if they were to finish the season not mortally scarred.
Though such pessimistic feelings after only the opening weekend might be melancholic, but on the contrary, will offer a healthy perspective as they look to r...Read Full Post »

Hilderinc FC’s return to competitive league football, albeit now with a debut in the Equatorial Football League (EFL), after more than two years was anything but surreal as recently repeating undesirable habits once again resurfaced at critical moments to leave the Blacks perplexed, though immediate inquest identified excessive innocence and inexperience had a key hand to play as the Hilderincs were down, once again, by their own self-infliction.
Still without several ...Read Full Post »
