Hilderinc Twā Football Club beat HM JF 2-1 and got back to winning ways in the SG Merlion Challenge Cup.
The Twās had Simon Khaw back in goal along with debutant Kenny Lee, Moganaraj, Michael De Bear and the experienced Pravin Kumar back in the team to form up the backline, and Mathew Joseph, Fahmi Noor and Darren Tan retained their places in the starting line-up, while Kumeresan Maniam, Omar Mahnin and Logaraj Sundram led the attack.
It has become customary for the Twās to get warmed up in the first 15 minutes with misplaced passes and finishing before they could start having control of the game.
The first real chance for Twās fell to Logaraj Sundram who was put through on goal by a long ball from Pravin Kumar.
However, Logaraj's header was sneaking in before a goal line clearance prevented the Blacks from taking the lead in the first half.
Rama Witjaksono, Nicholas Ledenmark and Kavin Singh were brought on right before the start of the second half with the latter replacing injured Simon Khaw in goal.
The second half started well with the Twās very much in top gear and dictating much of the game.
Things were not initially smooth for Logaraj Sundram, as once again he was played through on goal by Pravin's long ball, but with the goal at his mercy, the lanky forward blasted the ball over.
The forward then with Kumaresan Maniam saw another two chances go begging heaping more pressure on the Twās.
Finally, the first goal came when Omar Mahnin, who is having a fine run of form, picked up a loose ball and played a perfectly weighted ball through to Logaraj.
The forward rounded the goalkeeper and slotted the ball into an empty net to give Twās the lead.
The assist was Omar's third in as many games and the Dutch Master was at it again when his inch perfect cross was met by Logaraj who could not finish off the chance.
Danial Shafiq was brought on to freshen things up in attack and not long after, the second goal was scored.
It was Route One football when Kavin's long punt was nodded down by Logaraj to Moganaraj who then played a perfect flick back on for the striker to score his seventh goal in six games for the Twās.
The Twās were able to see off the game in spite of a late goal from a free kick by HM JF, but it was a well-deserved win for the Blacks who are now looking like a team with a strong set up.
