Munya Ahmed, a 24 year old Australian, wrote her name into the Hilderinc Football Club history books by becoming the first female to play for the Club when she made her debut in the friendly against Club M FC last Saturday.
The rightback, though short of match fitness and braving the unforgiving heat, put on an admirable display, even getting the better of her male opponents with some decent touches, as she showed that she has want it takes to mix it with the boys.

Incidentally, it was only in February this year that during their 2nd Annual General Meeting that the Blacks amended their constitution to make it entirely gender neutral.
Walking the talk in keeping true to their enduring vision “as an all-inclusive football team which embraces people of all races, language, religion and gender” and as “an exemplary outfit in the local amateur football scene” the HFC has made the clearest indication as a progressive Club.
While this is an initial but significant step forward, the sky is the limit as to where this ground-breaking addition will lead the Club which passionately believes that the Beautiful Game knows no boundaries.
